I was crap in the second round, kept getting nagged and then turning back to the screen to see the respawn timer #-o

Definetely need a couple of out and out Heli pilots, and then try and co-ordinate air and ground to take flags one after another.

We do need to pratice as a team, it was quite clear last night that when we worked together we were able to pull back some points. It also showed that we died alot comp to them, over double our deaths to theirs.

Need to duck more ofthen.

I'm thinking about buying this... I'd be a pilot.

I have nights when I'm shit, nights when I'm REALLY shit, and the occasional night when I'm a god with a gun. Last night was a really shit night.

Although I'm generally pretty good at FPS games, I'm usually shit at BfV. I can't hit anything with less than 20 rounds, and I die constantly. I have no idea why - in Planetside, I usually managed far more kills than deaths, in OpFlash I could drop targets in a round or three, and in UT2k4 I can cheerfully pick up killing sprees. Yet at BfV, I can't hit the broad side of a barn.

Is there some secret to it that makes it different to other FPS games? I didn't play BF1942, so maybe there's some fundamentally different approach that I just don't get.

And is running round like a headless chicken the wrong way to play? Whenever I die, it's to someone who is moving a lot faster than me, yet when *I* try the rambo routine, it's respawn timer time. I don't see people hiding in bushes or behind trees, and when I try it I score no points - but I still die to people who can see me 300 yards away, even when I can't see them.

Or should I just give up on trying to play BfV well, and go back to PS??

You need to stay still mate...

Running around, especially over fields or down roads, is a surefire way to die.
Stay prone, keep your eye on everything around you, and when one of the fuckers runs past - as long as you're not at risk from more behind him - pop him in the head, or the back.

Seriously, moving is the quickest way to die - UNLESS you are working in teams - then it's one man moving, one man observing. You've always got your back covered and the moving guy is acting as a target to draw out the enemy. The guy in cover then mops them up (or gets killed in my case!)

Compared to UT2k and PS I'm utter shite at BFV, probably because I never played BF1942.

Best method for shooting in BF I've found is to crouch and zoom, and aim just below your targets chest, let off a burst of 2-3 rounds and if your lucky 2 should hit him in the chest as your aim walks up him.

I am amazed when people snipe me with one shot from an M60 or something, but I guess I've done 1 shot kills on snap shots before now mostly through luck, so I guess you have to give them the benefit of the doubt.

People shooting from miles away through the fog tho, and Heli pilots who can see you because the grass/foliage isn't rendered at that distance are a pain in the arse tho.

Best thing with helicopters is to get behind a tree/building, and either move out of the area when he's turning and can't see you, or pop out and shoot him when he's turning and can't see you... just remember to get behind cover when he starts turning back around.

If you're caught in the open.... well, you're pretty fucked.

I play JO to get my ego boosted, I am a lot better at that game, I seem to have grasped it straight away and I am quite good at telling people where to go ( feel the power). Seems to be better team work in JO aswell and less of the NOOB calling 1337 fuckers. All ready been invited to squads/teams/clans in JO so I must be doing something right, in BF:V I just get called noob. :(

I still enjoy BF:V loads but I get fucted off when it turns into a heli/plane dogfight and u are just on the ground getting raped. (altho its better when its like that when u are the NVA due to heatseekers).

That's one of the frustrations with BfV, sometimes things can get SERIOUSLY out of balance. If the US get all the heli spawns, the VC can sometimes get back into the game; if it's the VC with the helis, the US might as well go and play Minesweeper.
