the asses at jowood are fucking about, 1st it was the 29th of april now they release a new announcment saying may 27th!! :(

anyway ive ordered from play already and it says awaiting stock, instead of pre-orderd so ill wait and see but im not keeping my hopes up about it.

A mate of mine tried the Beta version and he said it was shit but then again we disagree on loads of games so it might just well be OK. Personally though I'm really not sure about Soldner as the graphics from what I've seen really do look like OFP standard graphics apart from the player models but who gives a toss about them. Sure the game has deformable terrian ie you can crater the landscape and blow up buildings but big deal. The next biggest co-op game for me is going to be STALKER, 4 guys playing at a time RPG style a bit like Freelancer but in a very cool FPS. I thought Freelancer was one of the best co-op games I've played for ages and if anyones up for it I'd love to play it again online.

i loved it untill we finished it basically then it got dull, im up for it again if we can find a decent server (or i can try hosting on my 512k line maybe ok for 4 players)?? \:D/

i just set 1 up if any1 is intrested, i just tested it. let me know if any1 wants to join otherwise ill take it down (not thats its gonna be up all the time)

ok i just found out theres shit loads of mods you can dl and use online (although other servers dont agree with a few of them) i ran the battleship mod and you can buy and fly a battleship with massive guns and shit its well cool. if you guys join we'll have to try a battleship battle :mrgreen: :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

I think I uninstalled Freelancer in a fit of rage at not having any disc space left but i'll put it back on if you are playing it as I quite enjoyed the sp game.

i spent ages last night trying all sorts of mods, pretty decent some of them.

currently try to get 2 of the massive 1's to work that bring like 21 new sectors and about 30 new ships (inc capital ships)

I liked freelancer, only played is in SP though, I'd be up for an online game. Can you post links to these MODs, if they are any good, I need to re-install it, but will do so tomorrow.

im still fiddling with the mods, im having trouble getting the 2 main mods (that combaine alot of other mods into 1) to work, so i havent yet settled on 1 to use (only a few certain 1's allow mulitple mods to be used at the same time)

http://www.lancersreactor.com/t/ for some mods

http://freelancer.mcgamers.com/ for the mod manager (flmm 1.2) it comes with a few mods with it

the 2 main mods im trying to get working are Rebalance (or fire balance 340) and TNG 1.7

i think you need to be patched up on freelancer tho, but most servers still run on version 1.0 (and rebalance is tested on 1.0 too)

I hold an emergency back version of freelancer for Silentkill, just in case his copy explodes...

So if there's gunna be a mod group thing going on, I'd better install it.

ok ive downloaded the last 5, (after having to reinstal FL twice now) ill try them and if they still dont work we'll just play using the basic mods that come with the mod manager (gives you like 1 big battleship to play with only)

either that or we can join an existing server (1 thats up 24/7) that use basic mods too or no mods atall?

ok sorted atlast :)

this mod has 3 main capital ships per sector

1) install the mod manager from here ... http://www.lancersreactor.com/t/download/download.asp?id=834

2)install it then get this file...

http://files.filefront.com/2131888 the mod file

3) open it and the mod manager will do the rest, then just choose the mod and click activate

4) join the server i guess

might try some other mods later once ive pratted about with this 1.

as for the server i made 1 called "UKD Tractors in space"

only thing is i dont think there are any new big guns to equip on your big ships :( ill have a look.

also the big ships spin out of control if you drive into things coz the physics are not setup good, (ive tried other mods where that doesnt happen but then the turning arc is bigger than a planet!
