Ok, just grabbing the latest patch & reinstalling the thing - what mods do peeps recommend? I'll get the pirate one and DC, but are there any other good ones out there? Especially interested in the realism stuff.

Yeah the main one is DC, EOD is worth a look for the Nam theme but otherwise similar to DC and although Pirates is on its 1st alpha release its still worth a look. Oh yeah Action BF is also supposed to be good, 50,000 downloads of it already and it only got released a few days ago.

As for the realism ones there are a few but I can't remember there names, I tend to go for fun over realism.

i didnt think much of the old 1 but this new version is ace.

you dont get medics and engineers / anti-tank ppl anymore but you get different ranks and the weapons for each rank changes from map to map.

if you want a bazooka you have to pick it up from in bases, and theres no sniper roles.

normal weapons range from carbines, garrand thompsons and bayonets usually and then some roles have binos, expacks but not medics or bazooka.

tanks are 2 hit kills vs another tank and shots hardly lob atall.

you die with 1-2 hits too.

planes have buggerall bombs but the fighters have 10x the ammo and shoot 6 times as fast.

i recomend it, youre best trying it out to see what its like than listen to me

one of the best things tho is that to win you have to work as a team and so far ive seen a hell of alot more teamwork than normal bf42, and no teamkillers either. the players have a very good attitude towards the teamwork
