Dabs have got refurbed Acer Atom netbooks for sale at £119. Just bought one for my daughter. Great for surfing the net and a bit of casual applications. Great reviews on this model.

8 gig drive ain't much use tho but the price is ok.

I was going to get an N110 but I think I'll wait a bit longer for the next gen of Netbooks to release. They are bloody useful.

I bought a Dell Studio 17 :D

I've got an iPod Touch if I want to use a pretend computer.

Nothing wrong with Dell laptops, especially the spec I got for the money.

My boss just bought me a 17" MacBook Pro, and I didn't have to bend over or anything.

This was 2 weeks after buying me a Sony Vaio which was fecking useless.

Next-gen looks likely to have a battery life that exceeds one whole day - that, and a big solid-state disk are the two things required for me to buy another netbook. At the moment, my Eee 1000H is plenty good enough to use as my main work PC, and I cabn't see any particular reason to change for something that's only *slightly* better like the N110.

For the first time in the history of the universe I completely agree with SD. New generation Dell laptops are absolutely spot on.

I will be the first to agree that the Apple MAC Book Pro 17" is a vastly better machine (if you put Windows 7 on it), but it costs about £1zillion!!!

"Oh Burt, but each one is machined out of a single piece of aluminium, with custom made... blah blah blah.
Also if you actually tried using Leopard, you'd discover that... blah blah blah" ...I already know all about them, I bought 40 of them earlier this year.

The Studio 17 is excellent. The new Dell Studio XPS 16 is one of the best looking machines you can get with every concievable config and option you could want. The alternatives are all either too expensive or Ubergash.

The only part of Dell laptop line-up that isn't up to scratch is the netbooks, which are wank, but you can always buy the Samsung NC10 (the N110 is exactly the same, but with 800ghz ram and a 10.1", not 10.2" screen) if you want the best netbook (until the Atom N280 becomes mainstream)

(Wow, this must be the longest ever post. Do you think it shows that I do provisioning projects?)
